hello..

wonders if anyone still reads my blog.. haha wave of hands for those who are still surviving?

decided to come and drop a post.. also thinking about revamping my blog.. how to make it nicer?

today wanted to note down the words "important" & "importance".

something can be important to you.. but what exactly is the importance?
somethings can also be of importance.. but how important would it be?

mayb lets have a look at their definitons....

[Important]
adj
1. of great significance or value; outstanding Voltaire is an important writer
2. of social significance; notable; eminent; esteemed an important man in the town
3. (when postpositive, usually foll by to) specially relevant or of great concern (to); valued highly (by) your wishes are important to me
4. an obsolete word for importunate

[Importance]
n.
1. The quality or condition of being important; significance.
2. Personal status; standing.
3. Obsolete An important matter.
4. Obsolete Meaning; import.
5. Obsolete Importunity.
Synonyms: importance, consequence, moment, significance, import, weight
These nouns refer to the state or quality of being significant, influential, or worthy of note or esteem. Importance is the most general term: the importance of a proper diet.

so basically an item is important.. but the value of it being important would be its importance..

eg. i am important to him, but how much is my importance to him?
eg. how much of importance is our future, when it is counted as an important thing to him

well.. actually it's not exactly an example.. but just some questions that i've been asking myself recently..

been really emo lately.. and i cant even say out anything cuz he's gonna have exams soon and i wanna be nice to wait till he finish and have a talk.. but this emotions are goin mad, all i feel like doin is ignoring him.. and he just acts like everything is fine :(

how to ever talk?

Don’t Be Disqualified

3 Oct 2009

“He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.” Revelation 21:7

In Revelation 21, we are introduced to the heavenly Jerusalem. The purpose of the New Jerusalem is to be a habitation for the Lord; a place for God to dwell with His people. All the promises of God are reserved for those who overcome. Therefore, by the grace of God, we must cry out for grace to have victory over the flesh, the world and the devil. The Lord says to the overcomers that He will be their God and they shall be sons (21:7). “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death” (21:8). Who are those who will be disqualified from the New Jerusalem?

(1) The cowardly: those who consider God to be unworthy of their trust. They refuse to exercise faith in Him, but would rather lean on their own talents and abilities. They are ashamed of Jesus and are afraid of what family and friends would think of them being identifi ed with Christ.

(2) The unbelieving: those who doubt what God has said. They refuse to believe His promises and His Word.

(3) The abominable: Those who are unclean. Titus 1:16 talks of them who “profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.”

(4) Murderers: those who break the sixth commandment by committing murder. This includes those who hate others in their hearts (Matt. 5:21-22).

(5) Sexually immoral: those who habitually commit all kinds of sexual impurities outside the holy bounds of marriage.

(6) Sorcerers: those who practice and condone witchcraft in whatever form.

(7) Idolaters: those who worship people and other objects of affection rather than God.

(8) Liars: those who don’t love or speak the truth. While one might summarily dismiss these groups of people as those who are non- Christian, a careful study shows that they are those who are in the Church. Remember the solemn warning of Paul to the Christians in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11: “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you.” Let us walk in true liberty and not be entangled by the works of the flesh.

Woman top 5 needs

1 Affection Women often associate affection with security, comfort, protection and approval. When a man shows his wife affection, he’s sending subliminal messages to her that he’ll take care of her, stand by her and protect her.

2 Conversations When women have intimate conversations with their spouse, it reassures them and make them feel loved and supported.

3 Honesty and openness A women needs to be able to trust her husband completely. When a man doesn’t maintain an honest, open communication with his wife, he undermines her trust.

4 Financial support Many women marry for the financial security their spouse provides.

5 Family commitment A woman needs her husband to be a good father and to be committed to the family.

Men top 5 needs

1 Sexual fulfilment Most women can go without sex for months, but for men, it’s pure torture. In fact, they would probably do it all the time if they had their way.

2 Recreational companionship Even after marriage, couples should make an effort to involve themselves in their spouses’ activities.

3 An attractive spouse A man needs a wife who looks good to him.

4 Domestic support Most men like having domestic chores like cooking and cleaning done for them.

5 Admiration Men want their wives to be proud of them. So when you tell your husband that he’s wonderful, it motivates him to achieve more.

How Soon?

17 Jul 2009

But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 1 Thessalonians 5:4-5

Probably the most exciting question in the study of end-times is: “When will Jesus return again?” Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 5:4-5 that for the Christians—the “sons of light”—the Day of the Lord should not overtake us as a thief. That means that the second coming of Christ should not catch us unawares. God has planted “signposts” of world events to indicate just how close we are getting to that day and hour (Matt. 24:33).

Consider the sign of the fig tree. Jesus referred to the fig tree putting forth its leaves as an important sign marking His return: “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near” (Matt. 24:32). The fig tree is used in the Bible to represent the nation of Israel (Jer. 24). Jesus’ words were fulfilled in 1948 when the nation of Israel was born.
The fig tree has put forth its leaves. Jesus goes on to say that the generation that sees the fig tree blossoming will be the generation that sees His return (Luke 21:29-32).

How many years is one generation? There are many ways of calculating the length of a generation:

(1) After his tragedies, Job lived 140 years and saw four generations (Job 42:16). This would make one generation to last about 35 years.

(2) Matthew 1:17 says that the span of 2,000 years from Abraham to Jesus had 42 generations. That would mean that one generation works out to be approximately 48 years.

(3) Another method of calculation is simply to look at Psalm 90:10, “The days of our lives are seventy years; and if by reason of strength they are eighty years.” That means that according to Psalms, a generation is between 70 to 80 years.

(4) Another way to calculate the length of one generation is to look at the length of time Israel spent in Egypt. God told Abraham that his descendants will be afflicted for 400 years and they would only return to the Promised Land in the fourth generation. Four generations spanning 400 years means that one generation works out to be 100 years.

As such, you can see that a generation can range anywhere from 35 years to 100 years. If that is the case, taking 1948 as the starting year of the final generation, the second coming of Jesus could be anywhere from 1983 to 2048. We are living in the very closing hours of human history. It is “near even at the doors” (Matt. 24:33).
